The honest version: this is usually not a either/or
Most comparisons exist because two products compete. This one exists because two products get confused.
Encircle is aimed at restoration shops — the people who turn up after the flood or the fire. Its job is to capture a property, generate a scope an adjuster will accept, and produce the documentation that gets a claim paid. It is good at that, and it uses AI to do it: automatic photo labelling by room, moisture readings pulled from photos, scope generation from field capture.
Squared Away is aimed at the crew's own kit. Not the customer's damaged contents — your tools, your plant, your consumables, across your trucks and your store room. The record is not built for a claim; it is built so that on a normal Tuesday somebody can find the core drill.
If you run a restoration business you may well want both, and they do not overlap much.

Encircle's pricing page, as of August 2026, does not display plan names or prices — it directs you to book a demo or start a trial. That is a normal choice for software sold to shops with a procurement process. It is a bad fit for a two-van outfit that wants to try something on a Friday.
We are not claiming Encircle is expensive. We are saying we cannot tell you what it costs, and neither can their website.
Common questions
- Does Encircle have AI?
- Yes. Encircle markets "Encircle AI" for automatic scope generation, AI video summaries, automatic photo labelling by room, and moisture readings captured from photos. Anyone telling you the difference here is "AI versus no AI" has not read their site. The difference is what the AI is pointed at — a damaged property versus your own inventory.
- Could I use Encircle to track my own tools?
- You could capture them, but the product is built around jobs and claims rather than a standing inventory you search every week. There is no consumable tracking or reorder visibility, which is usually half the value for a working crew.
- What does Encircle cost?
- We do not know, and we are not going to guess in a comparison table. Their pricing page directs you to a demo or a trial rather than listing plans. Review aggregators publish figures, but those are not the vendor's own numbers, so we will not cite them as fact. Ask Encircle.
- I am a restoration contractor. Do I need both?
- Quite possibly. Encircle for the jobs, Squared Away for the air movers, dehumidifiers, meters and consumables you own and keep losing between sites. They answer different questions.
- Do you do floor plans or mitigation scopes?
- No, and we have no plans to. That is a specialist workflow and Encircle does it properly.
